Most people don’t have any idea what to expect from an astrology reading. While I cannot speak for any other astrologer (every one of us is pretty different!), here’s a bit about my style…

I have my own, weird, warm, intuitive astrology style.

The first time you come in (or sign onto zoom) for a session, you’ll probably notice that I’m pretty informal. I use some astrology terminology but make sure to translate back into regular-human speak. (I can dial it up, too, if you want to learn or already speak fluent astrologese.) Our session should be a low-pressure space to ask questions, redirect, correct my misinterpretations, and basically make the space your own. Some folks prefer to listen quietly–that’s fine too! I always have plenty to say!

A session always starts with me asking you questions.

First, I’ll confirm I’ve got your correct birth info and find out whether this is your first astrology reading. After that, I like to learn a little bit about you. If you have a topic you want us to focus on, I’ll ask if you want to share more about that. At some point, I’ll probably want to know what sort of work you do, what your living situation is like, or other details that help me understand who I am talking to. Sharing is always optional, though. You might get even more from hearing my uninfluenced take. Every session is unique, even two sessions with the same client. I like to follow my instincts and will encourage you to follow yours too. Maybe you will want to share a lot (and even stumble into your own answers), or maybe we’ll agree that it’s best to focus on me giving you ALL the information, for you to sort out in private.

A good astrology reading is intuition + connection + precise information from the chart.

While I do work intuitively and the astrology itself provides TONS of information, it’s your energy, authority, life experience, and spirit that colors and shapes that information. I’m pretty opinionated, so don’t be surprised if I push back; ultimately, though, I’m here to be your (grounded) cheerleader and advocate for the voice within that is (I believe) trying to get your attention.

Oh, and I’m gonna make a lot of (bad) dad-jokes. Sorry not sorry.

You don’t even have to believe in astrology for astrology to “work.”

Astrology can be a powerful tool for helping us see ourselves and the world around us more clearly and with greater compassion. This (much-evolved) ancient, multicultural art is made up of symbols, archetypes, and old, old stories.

Stories and metaphors alone are powerful magic. Have you ever looked at a childhood photo and realized that the kid who felt so hideous was actually real freaking cute? That transformative reorientation is exactly what my readings are about!

You might be surprised, though, by the astrology’s “eerie accuracy.”

That’s a quote from one of my most eye-rolling clients EVER (as reported secondhand), a year or two into my practice. At this point, “eerie,” “freaky,” “spooky,” and “wtf” are all familiar outbursts, as is “HOW DID YOU KNOW?!?!?” I’d like to say this a humble brag, but nope–just a brag! It’s fun to blow people’s minds!

My approach to astrology has been deepened by an urgent, personal need to make sense of life and death.

In 2019, I was diagnosed with cancer, which I continue to live with today. Cancer has taught me that our time is too precious to waste in search of perfection–we must spend it here and now, feeling our feelings in these skins we are in.

Now, when I meet with a client, my goal is to be with you in your experience in the present, and to help you slow down and be there too, in a way that is calm and healing. I understand more than ever how short and precious our time here is. I want to fill mine with connection (especially in these very magical sessions with my clients); I want to help others feel at home during their short time here too.

What are your questions for me? Ask away.
